Transfer admission requirements
You must meet minimum UC subject and scholarship requirements for transfer admission. However, students admitted to UC Davis also need to meet any additional GPA thresholds.
UC transferable units
Complete at least 60 semester or 90 quarter UC transferable units by the end of the spring term prior to fall enrollment.
GPA requirements
Earn at least a 2.40 GPA in UC-transferable courses (2.80 for California non-residents) to meet UC requirements. UC Davis requires a minimum 2.80 GPA for admission.
- Selective majors require higher overall, series and group GPAs. Strive to achieve the highest GPA.
Courses
Complete the following 7 course pattern by the end of spring term prior to enrollment with C grades or better.
- Two transferable courses in English composition
- One transferable course in mathematical or quantitative reasoning
- Four transferable courses from at least two of the following subject areas:
- Arts and humanities
- Social and behavioral sciences
- Physical and biological sciences
Students need to complete all required course work — this includes major prerequisites — by end of spring, prior to fall enrollment.
Class standing
While the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences occasionally considers applications from students with less than junior-level standing, very few lower-division transfers are admitted. All other academic divisions only consider applications from junior-level transfers.
Pass/No Pass units
Do not take more than 14 semester (21 quarter) Pass/No Pass units. Due to COVID-19, courses taken with Pass/No Pass or Credit/No Credit grading in the winter, spring and summer terms of 2020 do not count toward this limit.
