What: He's enthusiastic, funny, organized, approachable and he always wears "cool" neckties. Among his biggest fans are more than 100 students who will be the first to officially discover that their professor is the recipient of the annual $30,000 UC Davis Prize for Undergraduate Teaching and Scholarly Achievement.

Where: 1322 Storer Hall, UC Davis
Visuals: Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef will interrupt this last-class-before-finals lecture, by rolling a large cake down the aisle and announcing the prize. Interviews with the award recipient can be conducted in the lecture hall or after the presentation in a barnyard or laboratory setting, where much of his research and extended teaching takes place.
Directions: From Interstate 80, take the Highway 113 exit and head north to Woodland. Take the Hutchison Drive exit, and go east (right). Continue through the light. At the stop sign, turn left onto Kleiber Hall Drive. Park on the left in Lot 26 or 27 or in nearby metered spots. Several parking places have been roped off for media representatives. Storer Hall is the western half of the six-story building south of Kleiber Hall Drive.
Reporters in unmarked vehicles should place a business card on the dashboard to park free of charge.
