A second campuswide forum -- the first since the start of the new school year at UC Davis -- will be held Tuesday, Oct. 3, to discuss changes in the University of California's affirmative action policies. Titled "The Regents' Resolutions: The Challenge of Building a Diverse University Community," the forum will focus on the UC regents' July decision to eliminate consideration of race, ethnicity and gender in hiring and contracting effective Jan. 1, 1996, and in student admissions effective Jan. 1, 1997. Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef will convene the forum, scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. in Freeborn Hall. Other speakers include student affairs vice chancellor Carol Wall, undergraduate student body president Peter Nguyen and graduate student association chair Tami Winternitz.
