The Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science was recently bestowed upon Alex McCalla, UC Davis professor emeritus of agricultural and resource economics, from the MacDonald Campus of McGill University (Canada). McCalla is a former dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the founding dean of the Graduate School of Management. He is widely known for his involvement in global food policy issues and is responsible for the technical development of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research Centres, which addresses food research needs around the world.
