-- Alexandra Navrotsky, UC Davis interdisciplinary professor of ceramics, Earth and environmental materials chemistry, was the unanimous choice of a Ceramics Education Council selection committee to receive the council's Outstanding Educator Award. The award was given at the American Ceramic Society's annual meeting in St. Louis, Mo. Also, For her contributions to thermodynamics and calorimetry, Navrotsky has been chosen as the 2000 Calorimetry Conference Hugh M. Huffman Memorial Awardee. Navrotsky, who will receive a $1,000 monetary award and plaque at the conference in August, will also deliver the Huffman Memorial Award lecture.
