Animal Behavior Meeting to be Held at Davis

UC Davis will host the annual meeting of the Animal Behavior Society July 24-29. The meeting includes about 360 papers and posters from researchers reporting on laboratory and field studies on a variety of animal species, including insects, fish, birds, mammals and humans. Conference attendees will also be treated to two evenings of films and documentaries about animal behavior. About 500 people are expected to attend and discuss such topics as social behavior, mating systems, communication, parental behavior, physiology of behavior, genetics and behavior, developmental aspects of behavior, learning, and tool use. UC Davis, with its primate center and international connections to many field study sites, is home to a significant number of animal behaviorists, says meeting host Dr. Benjamin L. Hart, professor of physiology and behavior in the School of Veterinary Medicine.
