-- A journal article co-authored by UC Davis mathematics professor Arthur Krener has been selected by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' Control Systems Society as one of 25 seminal papers of the 20th century in the field of control. "Nonlinear controllability and observability," which Krener jointly wrote with then-Rutgers University math professor Robert Hermann, was published in the institute's Transactions on Automatic Control in 1977.
