"The Art of Collecting . . ." highlights the passions for collecting felt by nine local artists. The collections range from the traditional to the unconventional, and include metal lunchboxes, Buddhist amulets, fine photography, glass-beaded purses, Lalique vases and American dinnerware.
Whether their intent is to preserve a grand tradition, honor a culture, or remember one's youth, the objects all evoke the delights and pleasure of "the find." While not always linked in content, the collections echo the relevant process of art making. The exhibition will also include recent examples of each artist's work.
The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. The gallery is wheelchair accessible.
