George Kagiwada, director of the Asian American studies program at University of California, Davis, has received the 1992 Service Award from the Association for Asian American Studies. Kagiwada has directed or coordinated Asian American studies at UC Davis since 1970, making him the program director with the longest tenure in the field's history.
