Ten alumni, faculty and staff members will be honored by the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences during its 1991 College Celebration Friday, Sept. 13, at the University of California, Davis.
Community members are invited to participate in the annual celebration, which for three years has drawn friends of the college back to campus to celebrate its achievements.
"The success of the college reflects the successful efforts of the people who make up the college -- the faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends," said college dean John E. Kinsella. "The College Celebration allows us to bring all of these people together and recognize our collective achievements. The more opportunity those of us on campus have to interact with our alumni and friends, the better we can work together to meet the current and future challenges facing agriculture, the environment and society."
The celebration will begin with a 4:30 p.m. ceremony in the UC Davis Main Theatre honoring recipients of the college's Award of Distinction, as well as retiring faculty and staff members. The ceremony will be followed by a 5:30 p.m. Harvest Festival Reception, featuring California premium wines and appetizers.
The Award of Distinction, the highest honor given by the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, is presented to individuals whose contributions and achievements have enriched the college's reputation and enhanced its ability to serve the public.
The 1991 awards will be presented to:
• Abdalla Ahmed Abdalla, a UC Davis alumnus and Sudan's ambassador to the United States;

other agricultural business activities;
