Bennie Osburn, Wolfgang Kollmann

-- Bennie Osburn, dean of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and Wolfgang Kollmann, professor of mechanical and aeronautical engineering, have joined a select group of 400 Johns Hopkins University Society of Scholars members. Osburn, who served as a special research fellow in ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins between 1968 and 1970, was recognized for his contributions to both veterinary and human pathology and medicine, especially in the area of the origin and development of viral diseases. Kollmann, who was a postdoctoral fellow between 1973 and 1975 at Johns Hopkins, was recognized as a world leader in the study of turbulence, turbulent combustion and numerical simulation of turbulent flows.
