Paul Stumpf, professor emeritus in biochemistry at the University of California, Davis, received the 1992 Charles Reid Barnes Life Membership Award of the American Society of Plant Physiologists. The award is given for lifetime accomplishments and meritorious work in the area of plant physiology. In addition, Stumpf and his scientific staff of the National Research Initiative competitive grants program were presented the Group Achievement Superior Service award for outstanding effectiveness in management of their federal program during its first year.
