Book Wins Highest National Award in Landscape Architecture

"Gray World, Green Heart," a book by UC Davis landscape architecture professor Rob Thayer, has won the 1994 Presidential Award of Excellence from the American Society of Landscape Architects. The honor is the highest national award given to any project of landscape architecture for the year. The book interprets the modern American landscape as a phenomenon of the "tyranny of technology" and urges a more sustainable, regenerative landscape.
