The Journal of Financial Economics has awarded its annual Fama-Dimensional Fund Advisors prize for the best papers published in 1997 to Associate Professor Brad Barber, and Assistant Professor John Lyon, both from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. Barber and Lyon won the first prize award of $5,000 in the area of capital markets and asset pricing for their article "Detecting Long-Run Abnormal Stock Returns: The Empirical Power and Specifications of Test Statistics."
