The budget details for individual UC campuses are still being sorted out, but here's what is known about the new money in the UC Davis campus 2000-2001 state budget, reports Bob Loessberg-Zahl, director of program planning and budget operations.
* $30 million for the M.I.N.D. (Medical Investigation of Neurodevelopmental Disorders) Institute, which includes a $2 million boost to the existing $4 million annual funding and $28 million for one-time-only funding;
* $16.2 million for wage, salary and other cost adjustments and an unknown share of the $19 million to be allocated for salaries systemwide in October;
* $9.7 million to fund an enrollment growth of 900 full-time-equivalent students;
* Approximately $9.2 million for deferred maintenance projects, including $2 million in one-time-only funding from the general fund and $7.2 million in bonds;
* $4.1 million in capital funds for preliminary planning for new School of Veterinary Medicine facilities;
* Approximately $3.3 million to expand faculty access to Internet2;
* $2.5 million for instructional equipment replacement, instructional technology and library materials;
* $2.3 million for student financial aid;
* $2.2 million for various research initiatives; and
* $1.7 million for plant operation and maintenance and building maintenance.
