Campus to Celebrate La Raza Days

The 25th annual La Raza Cultural Days celebration at UC Davis will take place May 1-6, with a theme of "Together We Fight and Together We Win." The celebration, which is free and open to the public, begins Sunday, May 1, with the 25th annual "tardeada" family festival. The festival includes folk dancing, traditional foods, musical entertainment and a car exhibit. A health fair will also be held, at which free cholesterol, dental and eye screening will be provided. Lectures, films and music reflecting the Chicano/Latino experience will round out the rest of the weeklong celebration. A Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held at noon, Thursday, May 5, on the UC Davis Quad, including a performance of traditional Mexican dances by Danzantes de Alma.
