WHAT: More than 100 Sacramento-area high school students who participated in a University of California, Davis, transitional high school-to-university English program will see their writing in print for the first time when presented with a student-produced anthology of their work during an awards ceremony. Their parents are invited to attend the event, which for some is their first visit to a college campus. The program, designed to build confidence and develop skills for college-level success in underrepresented minority students, is sponsored by the UC Davis education division.

WHERE: AGR Hall in the Walter A. Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center
Located at corner of Mrak Hall Drive and Old Davis Road
DIRECTIONS: From Sacramento, take Interstate 80 to the UC Davis exit, exit right onto Old Davis Road, and turn right at the stop sign. Turn right at the stoplight into parking area for Alumni and Visitors Center.
PARKING: Park in lot adjacent to Alumni and Visitors Center. Place business card on dashboard of vehicle.
