-- Charles Rick, professor emeritus of vegetable crops at UC Davis, was recently elected to the Horticulture Hall of Fame by the American Society for Horticultural Science. Rick, an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, is a leading authority on tomato genetics and has made landmark contributions in the areas of cytogenetics, evolution, genome mapping and germplasm enhancement, collection and maintenance. As the 19th member of the Horticulture Hall of Fame, Rick joins the likes of Gregor Mendel and Luther Burbank.
