Chemist and Engineer Named Physical Society Fellows

The Council of the American Physical Society has named William Jackson, a UC Davis professor of chemistry, as a fellow. Jackson was elected due to his fundamental contributions to experimental chemical dynamics and his original use of lasers in pioneering work in astrochemistry. In addition, UC Davis chemical engineering and material science professor Bob Powell has also been named a fellow of the American Physical Society for his contributions to the fluid mechanics of suspensions and the development of experimental techniques. Election to fellowship in the American Physical Society is recognition by peers of outstanding contributions to physics.
