Leonard Morris, professor emeritus in the vegetable crops department at UC Davis, recently received a gold medal from the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture in recognition of his contributions to agriculture in China. His efforts over the past 12 years have been in conjunction with programs sponsored by the United Nations Development Program and the Food and Agriculture Organization. The project was conducted in cooperation with the Beijing Vegetable Research Center. Morris' work has focused on the post-harvest problems with vegetables, with an emphasis on the storage of Chinese cabbage.
