Chinese Honor Geographer's Work

Jack Ives, a professor of environmental studies at UC Davis, received two new titles after his last visit to China in the fall. After completing five weeks of field research in the mountains of Yunnan, he was appointed honorary senior adviser on environment and development to the governor of Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County, and in Kunming he was invested into the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences as an Honorary Academician.
