College students get career tips

Thousands of students will be testing the job market during the 18th annual Career Week, beginning Monday, Oct. 13, at UC Davis. Identifying transferable skills, searching for a job online and resume writing will be some of the topics to be addressed at various locations on campus. Career Week is sponsored by the university's internship and career center, which connects students with internships related to their academic major. A career faire, where more than 150 employers interact with students, is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. in Recreation Hall. "The purpose of the program is to assist students in many aspects of the career development process, from self-assessment to the job search," said Marti Hanna, internship and career center coordinator.
