Arts and calendar editors should note the following changes in the schedule for the ongoing "Come ... to the Rez" Native American art exhibition at the Memorial Union Art Gallery on the University of California, Davis, campus.
The exhibition reception date has been changed to Saturday, Feb. 26; the event will be held at the same hours announced earlier, 2-4 p.m.
A performance by artist Duane Slick, a UC Davis alumnus whose work is part of the exhibition, will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in Hart Hall, in the foyer across from the C.N. Gorman Museum. The performance, titled "Coyote Looks into His Mind" is sponsored by the MU Art Gallery, Gorman Museum and the UC Davis Cross-Cultural Center.
Slick teaches at the Institute of American Indian Arts, Santa Fe, N.M., and is one of the artists in the current exhibit at the Memorial Union Art Gallery. He will perform "Coyote Looks into His Mind." Slick uses a combination of stories, memory and monologue to bring "Coyote" into the modern world.
The performance is free and open to the public. Hart Hall is wheelchair accessible. Campus visitor parking is available in lots 29 and 43 free of charge.
