Students, faculty and staff of the University of California, Davis, and members of the local community are invited to attend the next scheduled sessions of the UC Davis Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) process on June 5 and 7.
The LRDP will chart the physical growth of the campus to the year 2015 and will analyze the land and facilities needed to accommodate growth in the teaching, research and public service activities of the campus.
To create opportunities for broader public participation, the Long Range Development Plan Advisory Committee meeting originally scheduled for May 31 has been cancelled, and instead, three open workshops have been scheduled at the University Club on the UC Davis campus -- 1-4 p.m. and 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, and 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7. The same agenda will be followed at all three workshops; three sessions have been scheduled to increase opportunities for attendance.
The workshops will offer opportunities for all attendees to review planning principles for campus growth and to participate in small group discussions about the future of the campus. The sessions will be organized to gain input from attendees on the principles that should guide the development of new campus neighborhoods and academic areas. The workshops will also seek advice from attendees on the principles that should guide campus growth in relation to the local and regional environments.
Also on the agenda will be a report on the amount of growth projected for the campus to the year 2015 and a brief presentation of the calendar of events for the next two years of the planning process. For information about campus growth and the LRDP process, see .
