The Marriott employees at UC Davis have won the 1995 Alice S. Marriott Community Service Award. This award was given to University Dining Services by the parent corporation for participating in 29 community service activities. Sixty-eight company groups were nominated for the award this year out of the thousands eligible companywide. This is the first time an education group has been selected. UC Davis community service activities have included donations to California earthquake and Midwest flood relief drive's and hosting the Hunger Banquet for donations, fasting and world hunger awareness.
