Computer Security

COMPUTER SECURITY -- The UC Davis Computer Security Research Laboratory is a nationally recognized center for research. Associate professor Matt Bishop studies and teaches vulnerability analysis -- how to identify the holes in a system and plug them. He can discuss the growing number of denial-of-service attacks. He can be reached at (530) 752-8060, bishop@cs.ucdavis.edu. Professor Karl Levitt works in the fast-growing field of smart intrusion detectors, trying to give computers the ability to recognize an intrusion and stop it. He can be reached at (530) 752-1287, levitt@cs.ucdavis.edu. Associate professor Phillip Rogaway studies how to construct and analyze cryptographic protocols, using modern mathematical techniques to make practical constructions. He can be reached at (530) 752-7583, rogaway@cs.ucdavis.edu.
