Dean Honored For Career Achievements

Charles Lacy, acting dean for University Extension at UC Davis, received the James H. Meyer Distinguished Achievement Award and presented the 19th annual Distinguished Achievement Award Lecture at a dinner held in his honor recently at the University Club. The award was initiated in 1971 by the campus's Academic Staff Organization (now the Academic Federation) to recognize exceptional career achievement by its members on the Davis campus. Recipients of this award are chosen from candidates nominated by their peers and selected by the educational affairs committee of the Academic Federation. Lacy has been affiliated with University Extension since 1972. He became associate dean in 1990 and acting dean in 1991 upon James Sullivan's retirement as dean and vice chancellor for administration.
