Frederick Murphy, dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis, has been awarded a 1991 Meritorious Executive Award for his service while director of the Centers for Disease Control's National Center for Infectious Diseases. This presidential award recognizes his many contributions to the control of infectious diseases.
