Professor Dolph Gotelli, Director of the Design Gallery at the University of California at Davis, has curated "Fantasy Tablescapes: Eight Installations by Design Alumni," Oct. 12 through Nov. 14. The eight invited Northern California alumni were selected from a wide range of graduates from the 1970s to the early 1990s. All are working professionals in a variety of disciplines including product and exhibition design, architecture, furniture and interior design, textile arts and graphic design. Fantasy Tablescapes is a project that Gotelli has traditionally given to his visual presentation classes for the past 28 years. He says the project title is a jumping-off point to stimulate imagination and creativity and allows the participants to explore beyond the professional boundaries of the daily work environment. The show will run the gamut from new technologies to basic raw materials.
