Dick Cheney to Lecture on World Issues

Dick Cheney, former secretary of defense under President GeorgeBush, will speak on various geopolitical issues during a special lecture Friday, Jan. 20, at UC Davis. Media are invited to attend a press conference prior to his talk at 7:30 p.m. in the Garrison Room of the Memorial Union. Cheney's presentation, sponsored by UC Davis Presents as part of a special series of distinguished lecturers, will also include comments on current events involving U.S. foreign policy. The lecture begins at 8 p.m. in Freeborn Hall. Called by the New York Times as "indisputably the most important secretary of defense" in the last quarter century, Cheney stood watch during U.S. victories in Panama, the Persian Gulf and the Cold War.
