Discussion Set on 'Women of Brewster Place'

A discussion of the novel "The Women of Brewster Place" will be the focus of the first meeting of the Black/African American and African Women's Book Group at noon Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the University of California, Davis. The meeting will be held in the Moss Room of the Memorial Union. In "The Women of Brewster Place," author Gloria Naylor tells the story of seven women from varied backgrounds whose goals and dreams help them fight against and survive in environments of degradation and violence. UC Davis faculty, students and staff are invited to bring their lunch to the discussion, which is sponsored by the Women's Resources and Research Center. A copy of the book is available in the center's library and the campus bookstore. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 752-3372.
