Draft Eir Released for Long Range Development Plan

The draft Environmental Impact Report for the newly revised Long Range Development Plan for the University of California, Davis, has been completed and will be available, along with the plan, for public review April 22 to June 6. Copies can be found at the reserve desk of Shields Library on campus, the campus Planning and Budget Office on the third floor of Mrak Hall, and the reference desk of the public library in the city of Davis, 315 E. 14th St. Comments will be accepted by the Planning and Budget Office through June 6 and at a public hearing on the draft EIR scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, in the AGR Hall of the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center at UC Davis. In addition, campus planners will talk about the plan and the draft EIR at a public meeting of a special LRDP advisory committee of university, county and city representatives. The meeting will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the Cabernet Room of the Silo. When completed and authorized by the UC Board of Regents, the campus LRDP will serve as a blueprint to guide campus development through the year 2005. The revised plan is an updated version of a 1989 plan, as mandated by a state appeals court. The campus is expected to submit the LRDP and completed EIR to the regents in September.
