Dutschke Appointed to Associate Vice Provost for International Programs

Dennis Dutschke, professor of French and Italian and director of the UC Davis Education Abroad Program, has been named associate vice provost for international programs. He will assume his new position April 1. Dutschke will work closely with William Lacy, vice provost for university outreach, and other campus leaders to facilitate and stimulate the development of international educational and re-search programs. His qualifications are many. Dutschke has directed the Education Abroad Program since October 1994; participated as founder, director and professor in the Summer Sessions Abroad program to Italy; chaired the committee to create a new minor degree program in global and international studies (approved last spring); and is a co-chair of the steering committee for the new Short Term Language and Culture Program.
