A draft environmental impact report for the University of California, Davis, addition to the life sciences building Briggs Hall is available for public review and comment. Verbal comments will be received at a public hearing on Wednesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in 126 Wellman Hall on campus.
UC Davis is planning to construct an addition to Briggs Hall that would provide new laboratory research space for more than 370 campus faculty, staff and students. The proposed 69,300-square-foot extension would also include administrative offices, conference rooms and a library.
The campus has prepared this draft EIR to assess the impacts of construction and occupancy of the proposed building, as prescribed by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). As required by CEQA, a range of alternatives to the proposed project are analyzed in the draft EIR.
Copies of the draft report can be obtained at the campus's planning and budget office, 3rd floor, Mrak Hall, UC Davis. Additional copies may be reviewed at Shields Library's reserve book desk on campus, or at the Yolo County Library, 315 East 14th St., Davis.
