-- The American Association for the Advancement of Science has certified Emanuel Epstein, UC Davis professor emeritus of land, air and water resources, as a 50-year life member of the organization. Epstein joined the association in 1949, the year he finished his Ph.D. research in plant physiology. His first science paper was published in 1942; his most recent paper was published in 1988.
