Entries Sought for Annual Juried Student Art Show

Entries are being accepted for the UC Davis Student Art Show, a juried exhibition open to all students currently enrolled at the University of California, Davis. Last year's competition drew more than 136 entries, with 41 selected for exhibition. The judges for this year's show are Missy Kinder, exhibition coordinator for the California State Fair Art Show; Malaquias Montoya, professor of Chicano Studies at UC Davis; and Amy Podmore, a Bay Area artist who received her master's degree in fine arts from UC Davis in 1987. The competition is open to painting, collage, ceramic sculpture, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, textiles, photography, furniture, crafts and eight-millimeter films. No fee is required. Students are limited to submitting two entries. Entries must be hand delivered to the Memorial Union Art Gallery from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 6-9. Up to three slides of work will also be accepted April 1-9. An undetermined number of merit awards for $100 and purchase awards will be given. The details of the entry rules are on the entry forms, which are available at the gallery, the MU information desk, the Art Building lobby, the Walker Hall bulletin board and the Craft Center.
