Environmentally Friendly Crop Protection Highlights Ag Field Day

New environmentally friendly chemical application technologies for managing weeds and field crops will be showcased during an Ag Equipment Field Day on Friday, Oct. 6, at UC Davis. Presentations will include a demonstration of a new automatic sprayer that limits spray drift from damaging nearby crops, a new herbicide applicator that uses a combination video and computer hardware system for snuffing out troublesome weeds, and a crop sprayer that targets chemicals to specific plants. At noon, media will have an opportunity to meet with systems engineers for interviews and demonstration photos. Meet at the registration tent near the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center for an escorted tour. At 1:15 p.m., simultaneous public field demonstrations of the new technologies will begin and continue until 3:30 p.m.
