April 13, Sunday -- UC Davis will host a luncheon to honor about 175 high-school seniors who have received offers of admission to begin study at UC Davis in the fall of 2003. The students -- from 34 schools in Sacramento, Yolo, Solano and San Joaquin counties -- have participated, some as early as seventh grade, in UC Davis programs providing academic support and enrichment including the Early Academic Outreach Program, Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound. The luncheon will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Freeborn Hall; at about 2:20 p.m., the students will be called to the podium to be recognized. Family members will be among the students' guests at the event.
