Everett Koop To Address Health Care

Speaking on one of the hottest domestic issues in the United States today, Dr. C. Everett Koop will provide keen political and medical insight on health care and its many options in his Feb. 11 lecture "The State of the Nation's Health Care" at UC Davis. A former U.S. Surgeon General, Koop is known for the forthright and controversial manner that put him on the front lines in the international fight against AIDS. He was also heavily involved with policies and campaigns on smoking, domestic violence and sex education. His UC Davis Presents lecture begins at 8 p.m. in Freeborn Hall. Media are invited to question Koop in a press conference the evening of the lecture at 7:30 p.m. in the De Carli Room of the Memorial Union. To reserve seats at both the press conference and lecture in advance, media should contact Dave Webb, UC Davis Presents, at (916) 757-3481.
