UC Davis formally kicks off its new school year with the campus's annual fall convocation 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, in Freeborn Hall. Students, faculty, staff and members of the public are invited to attend. Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef will deliver an address titled "The Interactive Dream Machine," and Sandra McPherson, a professor of English featured in the recent PBS series "The Language of Life With Bill Moyers," will read from her poetry. The convocation will also feature music by the UCD Symphony Orchestra. A reception will immediately follow on the South Patio.
