Past Whole Earth festivals at UC Davis -- 25 years' worth -- will be celebrated May 6-8 during the event's anniversary. Reminiscent of the '60s, the three-day public festival features arts and crafts, informational booths, food, workshops on "appropriate" technologies and various musical groups. This year will focus especially on environmental education, according to the festival's student organizers. Speakers include environmental activist Paul Watson, founder of the Sea Shepherd Society, who will talk at 4 p.m. Friday, May 6, in Freeborn Hall. Centered at the campus Quad, the Whole Earth Festival begins at noon on Friday, May 6, and ends at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 8.
