Former Texas Gov. Ann Richards to Talk the Talk

Former Texas Gov. Ann Richards will bring her "shrewd, earthy, often hilarious style" to UC Davis for a public lecture Thursday, Feb. 29. News media have an opportunity to talk with her a half hour prior to the event during a press conference scheduled at 7:30 p.m. The conference will be held in the Garrison Room of the Memorial Union, adjacent to Freeborn Hall, where her talk will begin at 8 p.m. There will be an opportunity to film the first five minutes of the lecture only. "An Evening with Ann Richards" is the third of five lectures in the UC Davis Presents 1995-96 Distinguished Speakers Series. Richards served as Texas' 45th governor and is a formidable presence in the Democratic party. Tickets for the lecture are sold out. Seating for news media is limited and will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
