Frank Loge to Pursue Other Career Prospects

Frank J. Loge will leave the university's employ when he steps down Dec. 1 as director of the University of California, Davis, Medical Center. Last week's announcement that Loge would assume a new role as special assistant to the chancellor to promote expanded corporate relations and assist with high-priority fund-raising campaigns proved to be premature. Appointment details had not yet been finalized at the time of the announcement's release. "Regretfully, we have been unable to reach agreement about this new relationship," Chancellor Larry N. Vanderhoef said. Loge said he is weighing other opportunities that will provide him with the new challenges he was seeking when he announced last July he intended to resign after 14 years as the medical center's head. "I'm disappointed that we were not able to reach consensus," Loge said. "I've had a great career at UC Davis and will always value that experience."
