-- Garen Wintemute, UC Davis professor of epidemiology and preventive medicine, was honored recently by the Legal Community Against Violence at its annual Evening of Renewal and Remembrance. The award recognized his "vigorous and unrelenting leadership in the fight to prevent gun violence." Legal Community Against Violence was formed in 1993 in response to a mass murder at a San Francisco law firm.
