Seminal paintings by UC Davis art professor Squeak Carnwath have been selected by the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart for its comprehensive exhibition "The Magic of Numbers." Carnwath, considered "one of the hottest brushes in the Bay Area" who came to prominence in the 1980s, has often created big paintings that draw from childhood memories, weighty symbols and a childlike manner of drawing and writing. The German exhibition comprises approximately 400 paintings drawings, sculptures, and multimedia installations.
