Ghirardelli Square, UC Davis Arboretum Designer to Talk

The landscape architect who designed San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square, Northern California's Sea Ranch and even the bridges in the arboretum at UC Davis will speak on campus at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, in Room 1100 of the Social Sciences and Humanities Building. Lawrence Halprin, esteemed environmental designer, town planner, author and landscape architect, is in the midst of designing the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in Washington, D.C. His UC Davis talk is titled "Veto Virtual Reality." He will discuss his past and current work, as he opens the UC Davis landscape architecture program's alumni event. Halprin's lecture is free and open to the public.
