Gov. Wilson Appoints Dean to Board of Food and Agriculture

Gov. Pete Wilson has appointed Barbara Schneeman, dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, to the California State Board of Food and Agriculture. The state board is made up of 15 members appointed by the governor, and advises the governor and the secretary of food and agriculture on agricultural issues and consumer needs. Board members are selected to represent a broad range of agricultural commodities, a variety of geographical regions, and the University of California and California State University Systems. Members of the state board do not receive a salary and the appointment does not require California Senate confirmation.
