The Master of Fine Arts program at UC Davis has been nationally recognized for more than two decades. Davis and the surrounding community have long supported the UC Davis annual Master of Fine Arts exhibition held in June, which is part of the degree requirements for the students. In 1989, the MU Art Gallery began holding a group show of graduate students' work in the fall quarter as an overview of the students in the program graduating that year. These exhibitions are often challenging in both subject matter and in the formal elements of the objects made for the exhibit. The Memorial Union Art Gallery is wheelchair accessible. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
