Graduate Thesis Wins Veterinary PostDoc Acheivement Award

Leslie Anne Jones, a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Tilahun Yilma's laboratory at the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis, has been named the winner of the Animal Health Institute Foundation's 1993 Joseph J. Garbarino Achievement Award. The foundation presents the award annually to a graduate student who has compiled original research pertaining to the health or nutrition of agricultural or companion animals. Jones' award-winning research, conducted while working on her doctorate at UC Davis, centered on the future production of more enhanced animal vaccines.
