Higher Ed Leader To Address Ways to Change Academia

Robert Zemsky, director of the Institute for Research on Higher Education at the University of Pennsylvania, will address keychanges facing higher education on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at UCDavis. Zemsky is currently engaged in a major study of the underlying costs of an undergraduate education, and is senior editor of "Policy Perspectives," a publication of the Pew Higher Education Roundtable. His talk, titled "The Process That Counts: A New Look at Academic Restructuring," begins at 4 p.m. in the University Club. It is part of the new Chancellor's Forum on the Future lecture series, a program designed to explore the future of higher education. Two other guest lecturers are scheduled for April -- Walter Massey, UC provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, and C. Peter Magrath, president of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges.
